My views for common sense solutions to big problems to tackle national and local issues
Reform support a strong policy on immigration. People entering the country with visas for work are welcome. The problem with the current immigration situation can be resolved with a more fluid points based system so that the right people with the right skills are granted entry and a policy whereby the numbers with visas are controlled i.e. one in and one out.
To deter illegal entry we have to be resolute to penalise those wishing to jump the queue or circumnavigate the process. The most effective deterrent is to enforce a period of non-entry which escallates to permanent refusal for repeat offenders.
Deport foreign nationals immediately after their prison sentence ends. Withdraw citizenship from immigrants who commit crime with the exception of some misdemeanour offences.
We will impose a requirement of 5 years residency and employment to claim any benefits in the UK.
Leave the European Convention on Human Rights. Zero illegal immigrants to be resettled in the UK. New Department of Immigration. Pick up illegal migrants out of boats and take them back to France.
Climate change isn't coming, it's already here. The world leaders have failed and global warming is the elephant in the room that is no longer distant. Both Labour and the Conservatives have no viable solution in the short, medium and long term. Their policies are aimed to drain the money from your pockets and into their own.
The biggest world-wide polluters are China, USA and India based on stats from the Climate Trade website with the UK not featuring in the top 10. Consequentially, we could argue whatever we do as a nation the effects of global warming are a clear and present danger to our way of life. We must engage the Environment Agency to implement a bold plan to increase the management of water flow i.e. dredging the Weaver, flood defences, irrigation and more so that as the effects of climate change are being felt we can react calmly.
We are living through a cost of living crisis. Much of the blame can be laid at the doors of the Conservative Party and rightly so. But should Labour take up residence in No 10 things will get considerably worse. Reform are committed to making work pay. We want to stimulate growth in small and medium sized businesses and drive policies so that workers keep more of their wages.
Millions are being drawn into the taxable income bracket. So even though you earn more you keep less. We want to raise the tax thresholds. Firstly, noone will pay tax until they earn £20,000. That's around £7,000 more than now. Nurses, doctors, police officers and many people who are not wealthy are being drawn into a higher tax bracket. We want to raise this limit too to £70,000. Everyone gets to keep more of their wages.
Lift tax threshold to £20k
Lift 40% threshold to £70k
Scrap VAT on energy bills
Lower VAT to 18%
Our promise to you, £2000 on average in your pocket each year
Reform UK needs your help to pressure for change in the way our country is run. The economy, our public services, the institutions that govern us all need reform so they work better for the people. As a member, you can help play your part. A huge thank you
